It is so difficult to believe it is the middle of September but a quick glance at the calendar confirms it. Kids are back in school, the new TV season is upon us, nights are getting cooler and many programs have new beginnings this month.
The Echo Shop also experiences a new beginning this month with our Fall Open House on Sunday, September 21, from 11:30 to 2:30. Our entire shop has been emptied out, scrubbed down, redecorated and all new stock has been hung. Beautiful clothing, shoes, jewelry, household goods and fabulous knick knacks are available for your perusal and purchase. Many delightful items await you!
The Echo Shop has donated almost $2 million dollars in outreach funding in the past 50 plus years. It is through your purchases that we are able to assist in the support of twelve community agencies in Santa Clara County. The Echo Shop appreciates your business and invites you to come see what we have in store for you Sunday, September 21!
While we don’t have to live through horribly cold and snowy winters like much of the country did this year, we still look forward to Springtime. It is a time of garden rebirth, baby birds, longer days, and roses ready to bloom. It is raining as I write this, much needed as we did not experience too much this winter. I grew up hearing “April showers bring May flowers” and of course was delighted that it was April showers and not April blizzards!
The Echo Shop prepares for Spring by offering a ten days of great bargains! We are clearing the shop of merchandise in order to restock for our Spring Open House on April 13, 2014. Here is our schedule, hope you are able to join us!

Christmas is put away, the house has been cleaned, things are back where they belong and we can all take a deep, calming breath. Happy New Year!
Once again the Echo Shop had a terrific holiday season and we thank our customers for their support. The new year brings winter apparel, including ski clothes, to the shop as well as fresh merchandise in other departments. I love the fresh start we all are able to experience each January. It is like a do-over each year.
May you strive to do-over those things from 2013 you might not have been so happy about and explore new things to keep your life fresh and interesting.
Just a taste of the delightful items we have for sale this holiday season! Come shop through December 20th.
School has begun, Labor Day is upon us, the nights are getting cooler, and the Echo Shop is getting ready for Fall Open House.
It is a delightful time of year even though we in northern California don’t see too many changes. Mentally, we all figure we have a fresh start to the year, even if we are no longer in school. What a great opportunity to look at our lives and actions with a fresh eye and make changes if desired.
I still see summer as vacation time although I haven’t been a student for over 35 years and haven’t had children at home to start a school year for twelve years. Now that it is approaching fall I make lists, get my ducks in a row and start fresh. I even bought some pocket folders today!
The Echo Shop starts fall with a clean slate as well. Beginning on Tuesday, September 3rd, our entire stock will be 50% off. On Thursday the 12th you are invited to stuff anything into a grocery bag for only $6.00! We will be closed for cleaning and restocking September 13-21, our fresh start. Join us on Sunday, September 22nd at 11:30 as we begin our Fall Open House. The shop will be filled with fresh merchandise, you won’t want to miss it. We continue the Open House Tuesday, September 24th at 10am.
We hope you will join us for our pre Open House bargains. Come again on the 22nd for a fresh start to your wardrobe, your library, or your home decor. We look forward to meeting you!
The trees are budding, flowers are blooming and the sun stays with us longer in the day. It must be Spring!
We are very spoiled weather wise, living where we do. We are almost surprised when we have a crummy weather day! Growing up in the midwest I remember hoping that there would be no snow for Easter, it made wearing little white anklets and mary janes a bit uncomfortable. I much prefer knowing we will most likely have sunshine and moderate temperatures, not that anklets or mary janes are in my closet anymore.
The Echo Shop celebrates spring with all fresh merchandise on Sunday, April 7, 2013. Our Open House runs from 11:30 – 2:30 with fabulous new items for you to peruse. Add some bright color to your wardrobe with new spring clothes and shoes. We also have snacks out on our patio!
Please join us for our Open House! If you are unable to make it on Sunday, there will be plenty left to choose from on Tuesday, April 9th at 10AM. Hope to see you there!
Brownie Troop 62415 from Marshall Lane visited the Echo Shop on February 13th. The girls each brought a donation for the shop and learned how the business runs, where our proceeds go and the people we help. They were good customers as well as donors!
The Echo Shop lends support to nine different agencies annually and a handful of others on a one time basis. We have been in business over 50 years and have contributed almost $2 million to outreach programs in Santa Clara county and beyond.
Your donations and shopping dollars help us tremendously in our efforts and we
thank you for thinking of the Echo Shop.
It seems like it was very recently that we moved into the new millennium. How is it possible that it is already 2013? Obviously, we have all been having a great deal of fun!
The past year saw many changes to the Echo Shop, the biggest being our move to our new location. It has been a very successful move for us and our customers appear to like the new environment as well. Our seasoned customers have found us, new customers have discovered us and our donations continue to grow. People at our Christmas Open House couldn’t believe that all of our merchandise is donated. Thank you to all of you who drop off your gently used items at our back door for us to recycle!
The Echo Shop staff has had a much needed vacation but will be back on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at 10AM. We all look forward to sharing another year with you, our loyal shoppers!
The Echo Shop was bustling during the Saratoga Village Walk and Wine Stroll. The shop was decked with Christmas goodies and many people got some Christmas shopping done. We may have been the busiest shop on Big Basin Way!
There were a number of people visiting our shop for the first time ever and many who had not visited our new location. Thank you for all the compliments, we are so glad we are in a bright new space this year.
The Echo Shop closes for the holidays on Saturday, December 15th and will reopen on Wednesday, January 2. Our wish for you is a joyous holiday season and a rewarding 2013!
